Attack of the Robot Barbarians! - Using AI art for your TTRPG

---------------------------------------------------

Greetings:

It is in program data query - "What is best in active mobile existence?"

Data print:  "To disrupt physically enemies.  To forcibly relocate in front of you.  To hear auditable input of those associated by intellectual and illogical emotional bonds expressing negative your actions upon them."

Logic - "This is Good/Positive"

---OK - won't fill this with nonsense fake robot talk though fun to use 70s "Computer" aesthetic fonts later, maybe...

This blog is a micro-project to help the Indie TTRPG community embrace AI art.

We have a valuable tool that will level the playing field between us and the bought out and taken over by false political agenda "Mainstream".  We are treated as hate groups by the "Woke" taking over and ruining our hobby, we owe them NOTHING and we will take back everything.  For the record I am a "Liberal", the child of Hippie parents.  The modern fake politics I find an insult and a scary cult which I fear long term will damage the real progressive work done last century.

I won't waste time on a long spiel on what we know already - but it will be to show you how to use AI art to make useful graphics for your personal or professional/indie RPGs.  The "Woke" taking over the mainstream have a strong "AI is takin' our Jeerbz!" panic since the few of them who have any job plan for their $100k "Gender Studies" degrees it revolves around "Art" of sometime.  I'm a WRITER/Storyteller who got harassed over the AI Writing thing...  IF ONLY the AI tools (Donjon + fees) could do as good as Midjourney for art....  But hey, reality doth TRUMP fiction...!

This project will be PG rated and the focus will be to show indie TTRPG players, producers and enthusiasts how to use AI.  This is a bleeding edge tool which will change as we use it.  Even those MAKING the tech are learning with it as this is typed.  I'm going to ask for some Ko-Fi donations then consider subscriptions or something more later.

We hope for some donation or small sales of special items because the time and money which reading our prompts and advice will save you will be worth quite a few dozen tries and a lot of time, certainly worth a "Coffee" or two's $ now and again!

For the most part the general advice for Indie ttrpg for generic AIart will be simple to use and very simple things.  More advanced advice and information might be behind a donation - such as some very advanced layering with Affinity Photo and Affinity suite software (that will help you almost any other software) but will take extra time since my  partner O.MaXXXimVs did them for his ...mature comics... and Ko-Fi's TOS is Adult Only is no-go - SO we'll have to re-make some tutorials without any adult content, good to help with Affinity 2 upgrade practice!

Attack of the Robot Barbarians is an ongoing work meant to help the independent TTRPG (Traditional Table-Top Role Playing Game) scene embrace AI Art to enrich their gaming experience and level the playing field versus the big companies who seem to care some kind of political agenda > gameplay and tradition and original fans.

With Midjourney, NovelAI and other AI based art generators the DMs and RPG designers can create a huge wealth of art product at minimal cost and very minimal times.  This will enrich the games they make and play and sell and again equal the playing field.  The "Big Dogs" have kept it so they have the best artists and many artists have expressed hesitancy to help an "Indie" RPG project lest they be harassed or blacklisted according to a friend.  In any case I do support hiring an artist if you want to make a product for sale - but I ask would they even pretend they could do the lush backgrounds and illustrations?  And if so how much would they charge?  And what about the "AI Art" tools already in "Professional" software?  I'd suggest saving most commissions for detailed character designs or digital paintings, then incorporating that over backgrounds - there will be a chapter or two on that sooner or later!

Lessons that will be addressed:--in one form or another:

How to use AIart for RPGs

---mostly (for now) Midjourney and NovelAI

Issues with Copyright, trademark and how you are safe save really obvious stuff.

How to structure prompts

How to make your own characters

How to make maps

What to do or avoid

How to use graphics to 'educate' AI

Advice on fees, what is worth it or not

Advice (pointers) on more advanced options

How to combine images using photo software - (affinity photo but works otherwise)

Graphic conversions, different software, aesthetics

Dealing with the use and controversy of AI art for mainstream TTRPG companies and how indie creators can use this as an edge

The List and other suggestions to isolate the shills and con-artists and sheep working for the enemy of indie RPGs and the hobbies in general - the "Woke" people so we can keep real "Indies" distinct.

Blending 2D, 3D, multiple AI images

Correcting bad hands and other odd artefacts

At this stage we could write a BOOK on use now in many hours of AI use and research alone on top of graphic design for years before - but it'd be obsolete before we get it to press!

This is a joint venture between Maxx Feral and O. MaXXXimVs with perhaps some other contributors.  We'll use Ko-Fi for now for tips or perhaps special access but want to help out by providing a service.  Donations go to me, Maxx Feral and get shared between me and OMaxxx and others between us. (Website fees, software upgrades, savings for "Gentleman's Tour"...)

We will start with these, not generated by AI but our own work - free to use in your projects if you agree with this sentiment. We are NOT a "Side" or a new "Fashionably Radical" thing - we are free thinkers and wish to break from the LIES of a false narrative.  The focus will be for "Indie TTRPGs" but really any hobby under assault wanting to break it this might benefit.  Videogames sick of being fearful of a "Damsel in Distress" in the story lest the "Sark" strike.  Comic books wanting some fun 90s Cheesecake or pulp appeal to give a flip of the finger to the "Woke" that might protest it as if they had to buy it...  Certainly we are NOT legit sexist, racist or any of that nonsense.  That is the point - a statement to reject the false politics and establish free thought.

Free to use for FREE THINKERS, those that respect freedom of speech, of press, of expression.  The "Woke" assault on the TTRPG (and comic book, gaming...etc.) hobby is NOT "Left V Right" or "Progressive v Bigots" it's a LIE.  Likely some hedge fund is buying up virtual properties to WRECK them like they did the malls and retail the last decade.  You don't need to EAT D&D or Halo so they can buy up a virtual property and wreck it and they face less regulations and criminal options than before.  Also fewer if any laws and by the time the Govern-NOT passes any they'll be onto another scheme.

They'll leave a LOT of wreckage behind and that's where this operation comes in.  We are going to keep and maintain the "indie" TTRPG base from the fakers - then when the money-men and their grifters leave we'll reclaim the base.  This will likely be just in time for "Satanic Panic 2.0" as the "Fundies" will need to pretend again to be socially relevant without losing their tax-exempt status.

Follow us and we'll make awesome art for our Role-playing games together and our own content with true artistic and literary freedom will outshine the "Politically Correct" corporate sludge where it seems they need to keep it so 'clean' three people check for ONE writer lest something be found 'offensive' by someone somewhere...  Truly it is time for "Barbarians" to storm their gates!

We welcome comments, especially friendly and constructive communication and advice. In opposition to the toxicity on most 'social media' we'll certainly allow complaint and criticism but reserve the right to remove, block or ban anything if it doesn't contribute, is spam or is just harassment. We'd like some day where people can disagree on things without being enemies.
